Primary School
2012–2020
Fifth Year Architecture
Project to design a new Primary School for the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh.

The key challenge of the brief was the site; it was north facing, long, narrow and placed on a steep hill with a lot of overshadowing from foliage above. This made it even more important to maximise natural light into the building and also to create enough room for a playground space and indoor break out spaces. This project was the first look at different thresholds for buildings with extra security such as schools.
